The Malaysia Student Pass is your gateway to studying in Malaysia. Unlike traditional visas, Malaysia uses a two-stage process: Visa Approval Letter (VAL) → Student Pass sticker upon arrival.
Renew annually — University handles renewal 60 days before expiry
Update address — Inform university within 14 days of moving
No overstaying — Penalties: fine, blacklisting, deportation
Working Part-Time
Allowed: Semester breaks only (max 20 hours/week)
Not allowed: During semester, full-time during breaks
Process: University applies for permission → Immigration approval
