Student Visa (Student Route)
Step 1: Get an Unconditional Offer and CAS
Receive an unconditional offer from a licensed student sponsor and a Confirmation of Acceptance for Studies (CAS) number.
Step 2: Gather Required Documents
Valid passport
CAS number from your university
Proof of financial capacity (tuition + GBP 1,334/1,023 per month)
English language test results (SELT if required)
Academic transcripts and qualifications
ATAS certificate (certain sensitive subjects)
TB test results (if applying from a listed country)
Passport-size photographs
Step 3: Apply Online
Complete the online application on GOV.UK
Pay the visa fee: GBP 490
Pay the Immigration Health Surcharge: GBP 776 per year of the visa
Book and attend a biometrics appointment
Provide your supporting documents
Step 4: Wait for Processing
Standard decision: 3 weeks from outside the UK (priority services available in many countries).
Step 5: Arrive and Register
After arrival, collect your BRP (if issued), register with the university, and open a UK bank account.
